This website contains some of the resources produced by a Lesson Study project started in 2010 .

The original aim was to improve the learning experiences and opportunities of pupils defined as having Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) by using lesson study. The project  worked with over 100 teachers to train them in the use of Lesson Study.

Lesson Study is a professional development process which can improve outcomes for learners. By teachers investing a little time and effort into collaborative planning and focussed pupil observations they can improve the quality of their teaching and have a positive impact on the outcomes for learners. Recent UK studies Dudley (2008) Norwich and Ylonen (2011; see resources section for more references) have shown that learners benefit from better attainment, improved motivation and increased self confidence as a result.

The project also led to the use of Lesson Study for assessment purposes. This website also includes resources about this approach.

It has also led to the use of LS for inter-professional collaboration. There are resources here about how to run LS for these purposes too.
