The original project which ran from 2010-2012 comprised of two teams, a development team and an evaluation team. There were initial two phases. In the first phase 2 teachers from 16 schools were introduced and supproted in using LS. These teachers recruited further colleagues including SEN coordinators to join the LS teams.  Revisions were made based on the phase 1 trial and tried out in Phase 2 with another group of schools.

A final Phase 3 was conducted in 2012-13 with 6 schools to trial the emergent Lesson Study for Assessmetn approach.
